flash encoding conversion service

flash encoding conversion service

Based in Warwickshire we offer a one stop solution for converting any format movies into any version of Flash.

This service is aimed at those clients who already have a video production and perhaps want to convert it and make the video viewable on their website in Flash format.

We produce the Flash flv file clip together with the matching .swf file to be embedded on your web page.

How to use Flash streaming flv and swf files.

When we create a Flash streaming video it consists of four files as follows:

FLV file - This is the Flash file that contains all the necessary video data. You do not put this on your web page. You just put the FLV file in the root directory of your web server. It streams the video data to your web page as the data is required for viewing. This means that the entire file does not have to load onto the web page before playback begins.

Video Viewer SWF file - This file is put on the web page where you want to view the flash presentation. The file simply displays the video data which is held in the FLV file. The two files are linked. You must also put the SWF file in the same directory as the FLV file on your web server.

When we make the Video Viewer SWF file we usually create a control panel for the viewer screen with "play" "pause" "volume" controls etc. This is in the form of another SWF file which just sits on the server and is not put on your web page. We'll call it the Control SWF file.

The fourth file is the AC_RunActiveContent.js file. This file just sits on the web server also.

If you would like to download an example Flash presentation and test it on your own website, we have provided the following four files to download.

2. Video viewer SWF File. Right click and select "save target as" This file should be put on the server and added to your web page to view the movie.

3. Control SWF File. Right click and select "save target as" This file should be put on the server.

4. AC_RunActiveContent.js file. Left click and save. This file just sits on the web server also.

If you want to test the Flash movie before uploading the files to your server, just double click the file called 1.swf after you have saved all four files onto your PC in one folder.
